A Quick Note on Impeachment

I admit that Trump is at times a nasty man with a giant ego, but those who cannot see past that fail to realize those two things are what enabled him to actually beat the democrat media and political machine embodied by major news networks, Hollywood, major print news sources, local news, social media networks, and political maneuverings we see like impeachment and the investigations that preceded it.
I do not believe anyone else would have maintained the testicular fortitude to endure and particularly thrive for the country in the same conditions. That is why it will be a landslide Trump victory in 2020. Your average American can see through someone being nasty in a political realm of nastiness when they know what's at stake.
Anyone telling you Trump shouldn't ever be nasty wants his defenses down so that they may pummel him. He is the embodiment of chivalrous, both able to handle the severed limbs and heads on the battlefield - and those who created them, while being tender, wise, and empathetic (for the most part) in more delicate matters. A great man.

A note on Chivalry from CS Lewis

Again paths that would seem to point towards despair are simply turned on their head as Trump holds a momentous rally on the day of his impeachment. What's been most interesting is the degree of continued hope that so many have maintained naturally without even hearing this message. I see it throughout my many connections on social media, even those with just a modicum of respect for Trump because they see him as some beacon of good amidst a fair amount of bad.

An Introduction - What this is and who I am

What this is

The Rainbow Pill is a publication that will exist in both written and video form (not always corresponding) as a way of communicating my thoughts and what I find to be an important and underemphasized message: the rainbow as a covenant between God and man that stands directly opposed to despair.

According to Genesis, after Noah's flood God put the rainbow in the sky as the sign of His promise that He would never again destroy the earth with flood (Genesis 9:13–17): I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

This blog and video posting apparatus is meant to highlight the hope of God's covenant with us. It's meant to embrace the logos that God perpetually restores as our earthly, fallen selves attempt to grind it down, subvert it, and corrupt it.

It's here to help people understand a despair free reality in the face of discouraging developments in our culture/country/society/world.

By a smaller token, it is meant to rebuke the rainbow as a prideful symbol of homosexuality. It has a greater and more substantial meaning.

Who I am

My name is Matt Baker. I live in the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area, born in the city limits in 1988. I am a Catholic Convert as of Easter 2018 and attend Sacred Heart Parish in Grand Rapids. I live with my wife (Amanda), two children (Madelyn and Lillian), dog (Lucy), and cat (Hobbes). We recently built a house on some family land after living in South Florida for about 4 years. I dropped out of Calvin College (Now University) while studying computer science in 2009. My father was present in my life, but largely absent as a father of any impact. He drank himself to death in 2018. I am largely the product of a strong willed single mother. I have Dutch, German, and French roots to my family.

There is certainly more to explore about who I am. Much of which will be revealed as I explore my thoughts through "The Rainbow Pill".
